Executive Counselling and Training Academy Pte Ltd (or in short, ECTA) is a private limited company incorporated in Singapore on 18 October 2002.
The vision of ECTA is to become the leader in providing professional counselling training of the highest standards available to Singapore and the Asian region.
Since inception, ECTA had entered into an exclusive partnership with Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway College to offer several programmes, viz.
Parkway College of Nursing and Allied Health and Executive Counselling and Training Academy Pte Ltd have jointly agreed to collaborate in the following programmes:
Diploma in Psychology
Bachelors Degree in Psychology (Offered by Swinburne University of Technology)
Post-Grad Programme in Psychology
Executive Counselling and Training Academy is offering the counselling programmes and Parkway College of Nursing and Allied health will offer the Psychology programmes.
In addition, ECTA has collaborated with Ministry of Education (MOE) to train its Full-Time School Counsellors in the Diploma in Holistic Counselling for Schools.

On-going Group Supervision Programmes for graduates
Our counselling courses are unique, as we encourage counselling interns to go for personal therapy and supervision. We also encourage students to improve in certain areas, participating in forums and professional seminars, so that they can better prepare as professional counsellors. We engage highly experienced teachers, including very established psychiatrists, experienced psychologists, competent psychotherapists and counsellors to teach and provide deep insights into actual clients' issues and concerns. We offer a range of courses, emphasizing in three key areas - Knowledge, Competency and Professionalism. Beyond knowledge and counselling skills, the ECTA encourages our graduands to uphold moral and ethical conduct, by prioritising clients' welfare above all.
So far, these programmes have attracted 1125 matured students. 788 students have graduated from the four counselling courses from 2003 to 2009.
The effective tools provided within these programmes offer students a solid base that help the self as well as others. Besides counselling programmes, ECTA is also an educational centre that offers a wide range of courses and opportunities for professional learning.
Besides the provision of teaching premises, Mount Elizabeth Hospital serves as a practicum site for student practice at their behavioural unit known as Mount Elizabeth-Charter.
The Faculty of Life and Social Sciences from Swinburne University of Technology, which is renowned for its psychology and counselling programmes in Melbourne has accredited both the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma programmes. With this endorsement, our graduating students are able to articulate into the Swinburne’s prestigious Masters of Social Science (Professional Counselling) programme.
As an on-going commitment, ECTA will continue to admit good candidates into its programmes so as to prepare them adequately as qualified counselors or for those who need an effective counselling education.
As the need arises, ECTA will explore further into delivering its programmes into institutions, establishments and corporations. There is also a growing interest in the medical and education sectors, which have articulated a need for more qualified counselors to be trained.
And working in hand with Mount Elizabeth Hospital, which has a network of contacts throughout the Asian region, ECTA will seek new business opportunities directly or collaborate with interested parties to bring its expertise abroad, in the future.
